GB Railfreight requires an individual to take on the role of Account Manager, joining our Commercial team. The successful applicant must have the relevant specialist and industry qualifications to undertake the role. This role reports to the General Manager Coal, Biomass, Industrial & Waste.
The job holder will be required to optimise the performance and maximise the profitability of a variety of contracts through active liaison with customers, clients and associated suppliers. A key element of the role will be to help build and maintain good relationships with our customers and the post holder must therefore demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as a polite, friendly and diplomatic manner.
The post holder will be the key point of contact for customers and will be required to establish a clear point of contact for all issues relating to GBRf’s delivery of its Commercial obligations within the contract and any associated variations.
The successful candidate will manage contracts, ensuring they are fit for purpose to suit the needs of the business and ensure issues are resolved in a timely and appropriate manner. You will also be required to deliver and present annual revenue/return on sales targets for each contract as set out by the General Manager, as well compile regular monthly performance statistics. The role requires commercial acumen, operational understanding and attention to detail with advanced MS Office skills.
The role also requires the successful candidate to have a clean driving licence.
