I'm pleased to advertise this fantastic new role which has arisen in our Safety team based in Peterborough. The role of Safety Analyst will support the Safety team in ensuring GBRf’s operational systems, processes and procedures are relevant and applied consistently accross the company ensuring corporate compliance with internal, group and railway operational H&S legislation, industry & business standards.
The post holder will be responsible for undertaking data collation, compilation and dissemination to be used in support of the annual Strategic Safety Plan (SSP), ensuring any actions are tracked in accordance with key milestones.
The role holder will be required to analyse the corporate and regional operational safety activity in order to identify and communicate trends and improvements.
The main responsibilities will include:
*Collation of weekly, monthly and annual reports which feed into the Strategic Safety Plan.
*Compilation of the staff Safety bulletins and disseminating to relevant functions within the business
*Input, update and interrogate SMIS and SMART databases and input RIDDOR reportable accidents in a timely fashion.
*Maintain a centralised database of safety critical workers safety performance.
*Analyse safety performance statistics, identifying trends and precursor incidents to the Safety Performance Manager.
*Track and record audit recommendations to conclusion – SMIS, RAIB, ORR, internal audits etc
*Assist in providing information of target areas for inclusion in Safety Briefings and Operating notices/instructions
*In conjunction with the Operations Standards Managers, collation and tracking of regional operational Safety returns pertaining to corporate safety management (competence assessment, incident & accident investigation, location visits, new business introduction, Risk Ass/LOM/MoW)
*Assist Maintenance of Coruson (Our Safety Compliance database) and information management systems with production of corporate and regional safety reports in line with GBRf safety management systems.
*Collection of monthly KPI incident for risk rating after validation
*Candidates should have experience working in a safety or compliance environment.
*Strong IT skills are essential and you must be proficient using Excel.
*You must be organised and used to working in a fast paced environment.
*Hold strong safety values and good communication skills.
*IOSH qualification is desirable.
