  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a full time Planning Manager to be based in our Doncaster office.


    The primary focus of the role will be to oversee the day-to-day management of the Planning Team and deliver the weekly production train plan in the most cost effective method.


    Candidates must possess strong leadership skills and have the ability to support, develop and coach staff in a fast paced environment so that employees reach their full potential in their current role.


    • Continuous review and improvement of the weekly production plan making sure it meets or exceeds budgetary targets.
    • Anticipate team training needs and formulate bespoke individual training plans as required.
    • Develop and deliver through the Planning Team the Annual Production train-crew training plan.
    • Continually improve the diagramming and rostering process and put corrective action plans in place when errors occur.
    • Represent the Short Term Planning team at meetings as required/requested.
    • Review and support the strategy to ensure any changes to Train Crew terms and conditions for rostering are effective for the business and communicated to relevant parties.
    • Prepare reports to support resource plans and forcasts as required.


    The successful candidate must be flexible and available to travel to other GBRf offices on a regular basis. They must have strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of rosters and planning protocols.

    • Extremely organised with good time management skills
    • Strong literacy numeracy and MS Office skills
    • Knowledge of GBRf systems including: TOPs, crew-plan and voyager-plan
    • Report writing experience
