    GB Railfreight are seeking a National Operational Facilities Manager to maintain and develop our operational facilities in line with business needs and growth strategy.  In this role the candidate will look to maximise revenue generating opportunities and seek best value for GB Railfreight in dealings with land owners, tenants and contractors. They will also ensure the safe delivery of facilities management services inline with company standards.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    The candidate will develop and maintain GB Railfreight facilities strategy in line with commercial, operational and engineering requirements. They will be responsible for the operation of all GBRf regional UK facilities. Key activities will include:

    • Leading and supporting the team responsible for day-to-day facilities management.
    • Management of short term multiple and various repair/maintenance and compliance contractors to ensure that performance is in line with the contractual agreements
    • Controlling costs associated with GBRf facilities expenditure ensuring it remains within budget and seek cost saving initiative to promote ‘best value for money’.
    • Support the business growth by preparing, scoping, specifying, and procuring any new singular facilities contractors, and then assist with implementation, mobilisation and then management of new facilities, ensuring risk mitigation has been completed.
    • Fulfil the necessary landlord responsibilities ensuring that existing and new tenants are manged along with co-ordinating the setup and renewal of leases
    • Monitor and report on contracts, developing and implementing the appropriate performance framework and reporting for each contract, including service level agreements, key performance indicators, leading contract and performance review meetings and dealing with under performance
    • Provide inspection duties of void and other completed works as required
    • Develop and review relevant budgets, ensuring contract expenditure is robustly managed in line with business financial controls including monitoring payment transactions to ensure compliance with the purchasing system and associated processes, addressing and resolving issues as appropriate
    • Own and develop the control of premises standards ensuring facilities services are delivered safely and efficient by compliant contractors
    • Managing and supporting change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities whilst planning for any future facilities development in line with strategic objectives.
    • Ensuring GBRf are compliant with legislation relating to facilities and best practice is shared through all locations.

     

    Qualifications

    Skills required for the role:

     

    • Degree in related field or relevant experience in office management or a facilities management role.
    • Proven track record of successful contract implementation and management including in-depth knowledge of contract formation and contract types.
    • Proven track record of using Project Management methodologies
    • Experience of successfully leading, managing and motivating teams, including managing team performance
    • Health and safety knowledge to ensure accreditations are maintained
    • Knowledge of the rail sector would be desiable
