How do you feel about working on an industry wide, multinational railway project which looks to enhance cross-border interoperability through Europe?
The ERTMS project, or European Rail Traffic Management System, will create a single standard for railway signalling across Europe and make it easier, safer and quicker for rail traffic to flow uninterrupted to every corner of Europe.
As the Project Administrator you will have first hand knowledge of the project and its progress. You will be able to participate as a secretary at numerous internal and industry meetings, which will give you invaluable insight into how the railway operates, while also allowing you to meet the leaders who are the driving force behind our rail network. Pun intended. Be warned though, you will never be able to look at a train the same way again!
As the successful candidate you will be joining a dedicated and experienced team who will rely on you to keep their diaries organised, meetings and travel booked and project documents up to scratch. As we live in an IT world, most of us seem to be living through zoom at the moment, you will get to show off your IT savviness as well.
You will thrive in a busy environment, where no day is the same and where your input and ideas matter and can make a difference. In the course of your role you will be able to communicate with stakeholder at all levels, from drivers attending training sessions to Heads of Departments and CEOs of the rail world.
In return you will become a part of a supportive team with your manager ready to guide you in your role and help you reach your full potential. Sky is the limit at GB Railfreight and you will be encouraged to learn and make use of development opportunities if interested. If you have experience in a similar role, working on projects, that’s brilliant, however, if that is not the case full training is provided. The location of the role is flexible and you will have the chance to travel to different parts of the country as needed to make the ERTMS project a success.
For all your hard work, GB Railfreight offer a great suite of benefits, details of which can be found below.
While a lot of train companies offer a very similar benefit package, what you get in addition with GB Railfreight is a sense of community, with a caring senior management who often go above and beyond in supporting you when needed. This has recently been acknowledged at the National Rail Awards 2020 when GB Railfreight won the ‘Great Place to Work’ award, in particular for our wellbeing efforts.
