Overview

 

This is a part time position supporting the delivery of our Rail Operator training courses.


The working pattern is as follows: 15 hours per week averaged over a 5 week RO course – 1 day per week training on weeks 1-3 of the course, covering all 5 days of the week 4 (practical) and 2 days on week 5. This averages 2 days a week spread over a 5-week RO course.

 

As an RO Operations Trainer, you will be predominantly based at Peterborough and Whitemoor but may be required to travel to deliver training at various locations, and perform assessments as part of our overall corporate competency management system.

 

This role offers an opportunity for someone who has strong attention to detail, is organised and enthusiastic and wants to broaden their skills base. You will have a high level of professionalism, excellent coaching, people management and communication skills, with a pride and passion for working safely.

 

To be considered for this opportunity you must have mentoring or instructor experience and Rail Operations competence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that GBRf deliver a high standard of training, supporting new recruits and increasing the competency of existing members of staff.
  • Act as a role model, practicing high standards in all you do and be responsible for setting the standard of delivery, producing and improving the training programmes on a continuous basis.
  • To deliver high-quality learning and assessment ensuring all employees/learners meet or exceed their predicted outcome.
  • Ensure that all training is delivered to the highest standard - including rules, regulations and traction knowledge.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience 

 

  • Mentoring or instructor experience
  • Instructor/Assessor qualification is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
  • Rail Operations competence 
  • Professional standards and exhibit role model behaviour at all times.
  • You must have an exemplary Safety of the line performance record.
  • Excellent IT skills
  • You must have a proactive attitude and be keen to make business improvements
  • Freight experience is essential
