This role provides real time information for GB Railfreight services (and other operators where contracted) in order to achieve and exceed customer requirements for punctuality, reliability and service quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for the real time management of the GB Railfreight/Network Rail Track Access and haulage contracts, and associated contracts, such as traction and train crew hire. You will be proactive in monitoring all of GB Railfreight train services, in liaison with Network Rail and customer representatives, including investigation into time losses and arranging corrective actions to be taken. The role holder will be in charge of the coordination of modified or emergency train plans in liaison with Network Rail and the Duty Control Manager whilst ensuring customer information is supplied frequently and in a timely manner. The Control department is a 24/7, 365 days of the year operation. You can expect to be rostered for 12-hour shifts which include days, nights, weekend and bank holiday working. We are currently seeking a TOPS Controller to join our Control team based in Peterborough. This role maintains the correct train lists and ensures consists are completed in TOPS and TRUST for all GB Railfreight services in real time. The role is imperative in ensuring the Control Team operate a safe, punctual and reliable train service.   The successful candidate will be responsible for the real time monitoring of the GB Railfreight/Network Rail Track Access contracts, ensuring that TOPS consisting work is carried out for all GBRf operated services.   You will ensure the proactive monitoring of all train services at Terminal locations, in liaison with the Performance team.  You will investigate delays and suggest or arrange corrective actions to be taken to avoid such delays.   The Control department is a 24/7, 365 days of the year operation. Join our team as a Safety Business Partner to enhance our culture of safety excellence and drive continuous improvement. This role can be locateed in the South or West of the country.   This role will be responsible for the strategic and functional development and delivery of the Safety Management System, whilst also providing support and advice on a range of health, safety, security and wellbeing activities across the Southern or Western region.   The role holder will work in collaboration with the Safety Team and the Risk & Compliance department to develop awareness, understanding and application of the Safety Management System and seek to drive continuous improvement so that our safety culture is enhanced within the company.    This will include monitoring and assisting in the close out of non-conformances, reporting to the Executive Team on action plans and offering close out if non-conformances for their teams on a monthly basis.   You will also assist in the internal audit program to ensure GBRf are compliant with ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO9001, environmental and other legislative, or regulatory requirements.   Regular travel across the UK is required for this role. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to deliver innovative solutions to any facility problems.   This role will initially be on a 6-month fixed term contract to support the existing team of Facilities Managers. This role will play a vital part in the delivery of ETCS fitted locomotive fleets providing a key link between the design houses and infrastructure managers to ensure that compliant vehicle / infrastructure compatibility is evidenced throughout every stage of the project. The role also offers the opportunity to develop and support other strands of internal engineering change processes ensuring our continued compliance to ROGS 2006, as amended, and supporting ECM certification requirements. As a Project Management Officer at GB Railfreight you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and implementation of small-scale projects related to the business readiness for ERTMS. The European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) is a single European signalling and speed control system that ensures interoperability of the national railway systems, reducing the purchasing and maintenance costs of the signalling systems as well as increasing the speed of trains, the capacity of infrastructure and the level of safety in rail transport.   Your primary objective will be to deliver operational management solutions for project and performance management, resource management and people development and to ensure that all business units are adequately prepared to embrace and leverage the benefits of ERTMS.   This role requires previous experience in Project Management, ideally gained within the transport industry, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to effectively manage change within the organisation.   Closing date: 4th March 2024
