Join our team as a Safety Business Partner to enhance our culture of safety excellence and drive continuous improvement. This role is covering the East of the country.   This role will be responsible for the strategic and functional development and delivery of the Safety Management System, whilst also providing support and advice on a range of health, safety, security and wellbeing activities across the Southern or Western region.   The role holder will work in collaboration with the Safety Team and the Risk & Compliance department to develop awareness, understanding and application of the Safety Management System and seek to drive continuous improvement so that our safety culture is enhanced within the company.    This will include monitoring and assisting in the close out of non-conformances, reporting to the Executive Team on action plans and offering close out if non-conformances for their teams on a monthly basis.   You will also assist in the internal audit program to ensure GBRf are compliant with ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO9001, environmental and other legislative, or regulatory requirements.   Regular travel across the UK is required for this role. A clean driving licence must be held.   Closing date: 13th May 2024

As a Project Manager at GB Railfreight you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and implementation of small-scale projects related to the business readiness for ERTMS. The European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) is a single European signalling and speed control system that ensures interoperability of the national railway systems, reducing the purchasing and maintenance costs of the signalling systems as well as increasing the speed of trains, the capacity of infrastructure and the level of safety in rail transport.   Your primary objective will be to deliver operational management solutions for project and performance management, resource management and people development and to ensure that all business units are adequately prepared to embrace and leverage the benefits of ERTMS.   This role requires previous experience in Project Management, ideally gained within the transport industry, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to effectively manage change within the organisation.   Closing date: 4th March 2024

The PBP will report into and support the Procurement Manager. As there is no formal category buying structure ultimately you will need to gain experience across all areas of the business to maximize the added value to the business. The PBP will be an advocate of Procurement within the business and will also be involved in the development of the Procurement strategies and policies e.g. sustainable procurement required for a large business.   This role has a dual focus i) Supplier Assurance, standards and compliance and ii) supporting procurement activity in the Professional Service areas of the business, including Finance, HR, IT and other indirect services e.g. Consultants. This role will be key to ensure that the business selects and approves vendors that deliver the most suitable commercial value to GB Railfreight. The extent of Procurement support by business area will vary but will entail the PBP agreeing a strategy with the SME, potentially leading them through the procurement process from market evaluation and supplier selection through to contract award and, in some cases, contract and dispute management.   The Recruitment process We will aim to shortlist within 2 weeks of application.
