Due to a recent re-organisation GBRf are proud to offer a new and exciting opportunity of Training Manager who will be responsible for the management and delivery of traincrew competency training and bridging the gap between the Planning and Operations department.
At GBRf we are always looking for ways to innovate our training programs and your role will be integral to this including new projects such as the digitilisation of training.
You will work closely with the planning team to ensure traincrew competencies are kept up to date and developed to meet commercial needs and provides a platform for future growth.
You will also manage a friendly, professional team of Operations Training Managers and support them with the delivery of high-quality training.
If you have an interest or experience in Training and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to see projects through to completion, this role could be right for you.
Our new state of the art training school is based in Peterborough therefore the successful candidate will need to either be based there or travel to this office on a regular basis.

An exciting oppotinutiy has arisen within our Control team, and we are currently seeking a Train Service Controller in our Peterborough offices. This role provides real time information for GB Railfreight services (and other operators where contracted) in order to achieve customer requirements for punctuality, reliability and service quality.
You will be responsible for the real time management of the GB Railfreight/Network Rail Track Access and haulage contracts, and associated contracts, such as traction and train crew hire. You will be proactive in monitoring all of GB Railfreight train services, in liaison with Network Rail and customer representatives, including investigation into time losses and arranging corrective actions to be taken. You will be in charge of the coordination of modified or emergency train plans in liaison with Network Rail and the Duty Control Manager.
The Control deparment is a 24/7, 365 days of the year operation. You can expect to be rostered for 12 hour shifts which include days, nights, weekend and bank holiday working.

You will be trained up to look after the locomotive fleet plan real time through our TOPS and TRUST for GB Railfreight (and other operators where contracted) train services and support Train Service Controllers and Duty Control Manager.

We are seeking an Operations Standards Manager (OSM) to oversee the development and delivery of industry leading assessments and training and to assist GBRf to eliminate risk and ensure we meet customer and industry standards.
The OSM will support the Head of Standards in ensuring GBRf’s Operational Compliance regimes are compliant with internal, group and railway operational H&S legislation, industry and business standards.
You will be responsible for the competencies of Train Managers and Rail Operators located at Westbury, Didcot, Southampton, Cardiff, Bristol and Eastleigh.
GB Railfreight are looking to recruit a Loading Standards Manager to manage the compliance, training and assessment requirements of the loading processes for various commodities including Intermodal, MOD, Bulk and Network Rail.
You will work in a stand alone role and become a recognised leader in the wider loading standards field and this opportunity provides you an opportunity to build professional working relationhips with both internal and external stakeholders.
In this role you will primarly ensure that risks imported by traffic operations such as off set loads and over loading are identified and managed. Secondary they will manage oversee SCO and MOD loading requirements.
They will support the Head of Safety in the delivery of GB Railfreight’s Strategic Safety Plan, and they will also be responsible for the production and monitoring of loading related KPIs.

Reporting to the Production Director, you will oversee the management of Operational staff within the dedicated region to ensure the delivery of a safe, reliable and efficient service for our customers.
You will have experience of planning operational activities to achieve optimum performance and through visible leadership drive employee engagement across the region.
You will be responsible for the depots in Doncaster, Liverpool, Port of Tyne and Skipton.
