Are you a Traincrew Planner with in depth knowledge of train planning and rostering systems and want to work for a growing organisation?? then look no further! Growth within GB Railfreight Ltd in the past twelve months has seen circa 200 additional traincrew joining the company, all of which require an electronic profile of their competencies to be created and require placing within a base roster at their relevant depot. As each base roster grows/changes it requires reviewing and re-linking to accurately reflect the workload within the depot, we have therefore created a new role to support the LTP Traincrew Planning Manager. We require an experienced train planner to join our friendly team at our London Headquarters, the successful candidate will have experience of creating and amending base traincrew diagrams and rosters as well as in-depth knowledge of train planning systems including VoyagerPlan diagramming and rostering software, including CrewPlan and MPT.   The salary for this positon is up to £45,000 per annum plus attractive benefits package.

You will also identify Network Rail engineering works that will influence the weekly train plan, communicating the impact of this to relevant stakeholders. GB Railfreight are currently recruiting an enthusiastic apprentice to join our Fleet Planning team in our Peterborough office.  This is a demanding role and provides critical support to ensure the GB Railfreight fleet plan meets the needs of its ever increasing customer base and train plan. Operating a 7-Day, 24 hour freight timetable requires maintenance of the wagon fleet to be conducted at specific locations, days of the week and within tight time-frames. The successful applicant will learn this skill in an environment that enables the individual to obtain a range of competencies through a structured development plan.  The role will focus on the following areas:   Fleet planning– you will support the production of the weekly rolling stock fleet maintenance plan and in addition assist in the production of the shunt plan. Fleet management– you will become the custodian of the rolling stock Return to Service plan and attend daily stakeholder conference calls. Information Technology– maintain company databases that support rolling stock technical and operational data to inform business requirements. Cost control– you will gain an understanding of maintenance costs by reviewing maintenance invoices and reporting variances.   You will have the opportunity to spend time with suppliers and receive practical exposure in wagon workshops to fully understand the range of equipment they will be managing on a day to day basis.

Working under the supervision of an Account Manager you will learn how the rail freight industry works; how GBRf operates as a business; and how we manage our relationships with our customers.   You will need to be confident with a professional attitude and a keen eye for detail.   Whilst in the role you will be supported to complete an NVQ relevant to the role and will be provided with comprehensive on-the-job training. You will be paid a salary of £14,000 per annum for the first year of the apprenticeship with your salary increasing to £16,000 upon completion of your first year.   Role Requirements - Attend customer meetings with GBRf's Account Managers, take minutes and follow up on actions. - Oversee the data element and background work that goes into managing customer contracts. - Collate KPI figures for the team and document improvement measures. - Review daily billing with our customers under the supervision of an Account Manager. - Liaise with GBRf's Control department with regards to the contract outputs and day to day management of services. What we are looking for - We are looking for a positive individual with good written and verbal communications skills and a good eye for detail. - You must have a minimum of 4 GCSE's including English and Maths at Grade 9 - 4 (or equivalent) - We are looking for good influencing and negotiation skills and a can-do attitude. - You must be flexible to travel to our locations across the country on occasions (sometimes during unsociable hours) to learn about GBRf and our customers.   If you are interested in this role please apply before the closing date of 15th December 2021.
